The bar chart compares the changes in terms of career choices among graduates at a certain university in 2013 and 2018.During this period, the proportion of students who hunted for jobs after graduation declined significantly from 68.1% to 60.7%，while the figures for those continuing their education and starting their own businesses witnessed a notable growth, up from 26.3%and 1.3% to 34% and 2.6% respectively.

There are two reasons to explain this phenomenon.First and foremost, due to the rising number of college graduates, the competition in the job market is becoming increasingly intense.In order to respond to such employment pressure, many of them decided to pursue higher degrees or to be self-employed.Another contributing factor is a series of relevant policies and measures introduced by the government, including expanding the enrolment of postgraduates and encouraging students fresh from college to take part in entrepreneurial activities.
